North Pole??

Yep that's right, I'm in North Pole Alaska!! It's not the North Pole but it's a North Pole:) Santa Claus does live here though. I saw his workshop on the way in to town today. Apparently Santa is there all year round! Just so you know we are pretty close to Russia here and we are farther west in the world then the Hawaiian Islands.
It's warm here for being the north. Today it was probably 25 celcius during the day. It cools off alot at night though.
Right now I'm at my host family. They have 2 airplanes. There are many people with airplanes here because the roads aren't very good, so many people just fly. Alaska has the highest number of airplanes per person in the world. We just went for a walk and there was a plane standing in almost every yard.
Alaska is beautiful. I've seen pictures but they don't do justice to the beauty out here. At our last church there were mountains a short distance away. There is no way to explain the way they looked. They were big and snow covered, rising up just behind the river. Wow! I was just amazed. We have an awesome God who created an awesome world!! I thank God for the oppurtunity to be out here and be reminded all the time of His greatness!
Love you all,
Barb
